Case in point: The dating app Clover recently polled users across the U.S. about whether they were looking for casual dates, long-term relationships, hookups, or new friends.

It turns out that New York City topped the list of cities where people are looking for long-term love. On the other side of the spectrum, Los Angeles Clover users reported looking for hookups more than any other city, while Chicagoans were most likely to be looking for new friends and Houston singles were most likely to want casual dating, according to Clover.
