Feeding your body with proteins after a run helps to strengthen muscles better than having a carbohydrate drink, according to US researchers.
Scientists from Colorado State University measured the muscle structure of a group of adults, all aged over 37, who ran three times a week. Those who had protein drinks after exercising had stronger muscles after six weeks than those who had carbohydrate drinks.
